My Story

Lost 10 lbs, gained fitness and friends

I haven't always been into fitness and didn't really do much up until about a year before I started CFUK. I attempted the gym on and off for about 6 months but nothing serious. I was recommended to CFUK by a friend, everyone was raving about it so I thought this would be the next thing to try!

I haven't looked back - I love it! I've been going since Feb 2013. I initially lost about 10lbs through the exercise and diet although I didn't follow the diet religiously at all. My results would have been a lot faster but I am partial to a glass of wine and my love for cheese and chocolate always got in the way!

My measurements have definitely changed though and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my fitness. Everyone at CFUK makes you feel welcome and strong friendships have been formed.

Completing the Eastbourne 5K as part of the CFUK team was a huge achievement for me as running doesn't come naturally. This was followed this with Race for Life, The Christmas Pudding Dash, Chichester 10k, and the back to the trenches obstacle run. None of which I could have done without Chris and CFUK!

All this is work towards keeping my fitness levels up for the Three Peaks Challenge in August. My brother, Jamie, died suddenly in December 2009 from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. I've always wanted to raise money for his charity, CRY, but just never felt that I was fit enough to do something worthy.

I am now - and a team of 18 people from Commando Fitness have just completed the three peaks challenge in honour of my brother! I am overwhelmed and humbled that Chris and a group of people (whom I had only met less than a year ago at CFUK) were willing to give up their time to help me raise money in my brother’s name.

CFUK rocks!!
