My journey started about 18 months ago when I was told I had diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. My doctor told me the only way forward was to lose weight. I'd tried different weight loss courses but none worked, the weight stayed and sometimes increased.
I had four massive reasons to succeed, my beautiful wife and my three beautiful daughters. In April 2013 my two brother in laws persuaded me to join commando fitness. I was very sceptical at first probably because of all the failed courses before. I went to the weigh in and was disgusted to find out I'd ballooned to 19st 2.
The first two weeks were really hard for me, being so heavy and unfit. But as the course progressed I felt more and more comfortable. I've been here a year now and four stone lighter, but I can't see me wanting to stop, it's that addictive. I'm not going to lie it is hard work, but you get out what you put in.
I've met some amazing people and some new lifelong friends. We help and support each other all the way and I've got a great training partner in Matt, who had achieved something similar to me when I arrived.
Last but not least there's the boss, Chris. In a way this man could have saved my life and I owe him a great deal of gratitude. He helps all the way and supports everyone, spending time with the new ones whilst pushing us loyal ones. I wouldn't promote anything other than commando fitness as it's been an amazing adventure.
